Christopher Shannon FW17 Collection: 5 Trends to Notice

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

UK fashion designer Christopher Shannon unveiled his Fall Winter 2017 collection on day 2, Saturday the 7th, at London Fashion Week Mens. The collection was very streetwear inspired and there were definitely a few trends we spotted that are worth mentioning. Here are 5 trends noticed in Christopher Shannon collection that we should definitely be one the lookout for in the coming seasons.

Distressed

I know that distressed jeans have been a thing since last spring but these distressed jackets are killing it. They’re perfect for the winter being warm enough but if it ever gets too hot, this allows  just enough breeze to flow through. Im not sure how warm this individual piece is but, being denim I’m very optimistic. Just don’t forget your undergarments.

Asymmetry

This asymmetric trend not only looks really cool and forward, but having a sweater with two different colors gives you a lot of flexibility with styling. It suddenly becomes easier to decide what pant to wear, what shirt to wear and maybe even the jacket you want to wear that would look good with your outfit.

Color Blocking

If you haven’t read my last blogpost about  Liam Hodges’ Fall Winter 2017 collection. Color blocking is trend that’s to be expected for the fall/winter 2017 season. Also worth mentioning is that it makes styling more flexible, deciding what looks good with what.

Track Denim

I know we’ve all hear of tracksuits before but Christopher Shannon has introduced another cool style that I’m calling the track denim. It looks like tracksuit pants but it’s made entirely out of denim. As I mentioned before, I am really optimistic about denim being warm and opening the side can allow breeze to cool you off  if it ever gets too hot.   I really look forward to seeing more of this trend streetwear.

Jumpers

Jumpers have definitely tried to make their come-back in 2017. But for some reason I haven’t seen much of it in streetwear. I think this is something that should be on every Oceaneer’s wish list for the fall 2017 season if it isn’t already on your wish list for this season. It keeps you warm, creates a head to toe look and looks really cool, giving you a nice throwback 90’s vibe. We’ll give you all summer/spring to decide.
